The mission of Roxbury Community College Testing & Assessment Office is to provide high quality testing services for faculty, students and the general public.  Our purpose is to provide a reliable test administration for individuals by creating a professional testing environment that facilitates individuals’ access to education and academic success.  We support students and community members in making progress towards their educational and career goals.  The Testing & Assessment Office adheres to the National College Testing Association’s (NCTA) Professional Standards and Guidelines.

College Placement Testing: Offered both in person and online. To test online, students are required to have a desktop/laptop with working camera, speaker and mic.

CLEP: With CLEP, students can earn credits for what they already know. Meaning, instead of taking a class, students can take the CLEP exam and earn credits. For instance, a person who is fluent in Spanish can earn either 3, 6, or 9 credits depending on how well they score and which college they are transferring it to. Students can pay for their CLEP exam and location seat via Modern States (a free online program that offers CLEP courses and a voucher at the end).

TEAS: The TEAS test can be done both online and in person. RCC is offering Online Only TEAS until further notice. Students taking the TEAS with RCC are required to have a laptop/desktop with working camera, mic and speakers.

High School Equivalency Testing: We offer both the HiSET and GED at RCC. The difference between HiSET and GED is that HiSET has 5 Modules and GED has 4. The English Module for HiSET is broken up into 2 separate tests: Reading and Writing; whereas it is 1 test in GED: Language Arts.
